Discount Feeds featured sponsors of the 2022 Show
As a 12-year old girl Jo Sutton’s first experience of Tockwith and District Agricultural Show was when she competed in the pony class.
Now, as Owner and Director of the Wetherby-based Discount Feeds shop she has just become the principal sponsor for this year’s show which will be held on Sunday August 7th.
Jo says there is a natural match between her business and the Show.
“We are really excited to have the opportunity to be part of such an important local community event,” she said, “and when that opportunity came up I had absolutely no hesitation in going for it. I have taken part as a competitor since I was a young girl and know just how important the show is to the thousands of people – both competitors and visitors – it has attracted each year.”
The Chair of the Show, Georgina Watson said she was delighted that Discount Feeds had agreed to become the principal sponsor.
“Every show is special, but after missing the last two years because of Covid, this year is especially so, and it is fantastic to have such an important local business supporting us in this way.”
Discount Feeds, which opened in 2009, is now based in three units on the York Road industrial estate in Wetherby, and provides feeds and accessories for all types of animals ranging from wild birds to horses.
The show – which was first held back in 1945 – now has a total of almost three hundred classes, one hundred and twenty trophies, and prize money totalling more than five thousands pounds, making it one of the most important agricultural shows to be held in the region.
