Diary
Events associated with the show take place throughout the year, and there are frequent other events at the showground which is owned by Tockwith Show.
Here is a list of events coming up.
Annual Committee Dinner
24 February 2012
It's our annual Committee Dinner on Friday, February 24th 2012. This will be held at The Bridge Hotel & Spa, Walshford and begins around 7.15pm to meet for drinks, with everyone going into dinner around 7.30pm (usually takes a while longer to get everyone seated!)
This year it will be a carvery. Everyone has always had to pre-order their meal and choice of starter, mains and dessert but this year your choice of starter and pudding will be taken on the night and served at everyone's table and guests will then collect their main course from the carvery (so no need to pre-order, much less work for me!!). The menu is as follows:
Starters: Rustic farmhouse pate, apple chutney, dressed baby salad leaves and tomato onion bread or leek and potato soup, topped with toasted pine kernels or fresh prawn & salmon, basil leaf salad with mayonnaise & balsamic dressing.
Mains from the carvery: Roast topside of beef, herbed Yorkshire pudding, onion confit & gravy or sugar and mustard roasted York gammon with a pineapple compote or compote of East Coast seafood with chardonnay cream or goats cheese and roast onion tart tartin with rocket, honet & pine nut salad.
Dessert: Chef's homemade brownie, vanilla pod ice cream & chocolate sauce or warm apple and raspberry crumble tart with clotted cream or selection of English cheeses, grapes, celery & water biscuits.
Coffee & mints
The cost will be £22 per person (£1 cheaper than last year!). To book tickets either ring Sarah Burkhardte on 07951 587318 or 01423 359522 or email her at shburckhardt@talktalk.net. Payment should be by cheque (Tockwith & District Show) to 11 Marston Rd, Tockwith, YO26 7PR.
